Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player won his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a difficult season, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's initial trophy since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from that period of the previous year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.
But the player has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an improved serving game.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.
Moutet rescued four early chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
